Women are sometimes hard to buy for. The women at Treat Her have compiled a few handy tips so that you’re not completely baffled when it comes round to present time of year, whether you’re trying to find birthday gifts, Christmas gifts or a ‘just because’ gift (in which case, gold star for you!)...
These handy tips to choosing a gift for her should help you pick the perfect present ...
Rake up the past...
Think back to when you’ve seen her open gifts on birthdays and Christmases, what gifts made her beam and what gift did she force a smile for? Do any of her gifts lie unopened and unused? Or has that gorgeous top you bought her mysteriously disappeared? Make a note of those gifts and put them on the black list!
Ask her subtle questions...
Now, you’ll have to be careful here, women can smell a plan a mile off. You may have some knowledge you can work on, if you know her favourite colour or flower, you’re doing well. On the other hand if you’ve no idea, get cracking! Comment on the awful/ fantastic paint shade of a car/curtains and see what she says...
Use your loaf!
Is she a fussy lady that knows what she wants? If pink roses are her thing, best not to buy her a cactus. Similarly, if she’s scared of heights, don’t take her bungee jumping. Is all her jewellery scattered on one surface? She might like a glamorous chest to keep it all in...
Ask for help...
Don’t be afraid to ask her female friends and relatives what they think makes a great gift for women. What do they think could be the perfect gift for her? These are the women she shares her likes and dislikes with, especially when it comes to gifts, so listen to their ideas and think about them when choosing. If they say she wouldn’t like leopard print underwear, she definitely wouldn’t like leopard print underwear!
Use old memories
Think of times she’s had, whether together or with others that you know she loved, a special family party or that birthday. What was special about those times? If you once took her on a picnic to a daisy filled field, you might not remember how special it was, but the chances are she does. One look at the little flower and she’ll remember how nice that day was... There’s no shame in back-referencing when it comes to a gift, she’ll just be overwhelmed you remembered!
Follow your heart
If you just have this feeling she’ll really really like it... you may just be right!
