International Women’s Day, on March 8th, is the biggest day of the year to simply celebrate women. This major day is celebrated annually around the world, to reflect women’s economic, political and social achievements.
Almost in its hundredth year, this day sees governments, groups and organisations focussing gender issues, on both a local and global level. With the majority of International Women’s Day events being held in the UK, there are hundreds of opportunities for women to get involved, and for men to support them along the way!
But not only that, International Women’s Day is a time for everyone to celebrate women on a more personal level, and many give the most special woman or women in their lives a gift as a sign of their appreciation.
