For all the budding romantics out there, daring to pop the question, here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing...And what better day to pop the question than the most romantic day of the year.
1) The grand gesture
Ok so this could work out expensive, but for those of you who like to think big, how about renting a billboard for a day. This is one of the craziest ways to propose, but it’s the last thing she will be expecting! Try going through the yellow pages or a local advertising agency and see what you can find.
2) Surprise!
If playing it safe is more your thing, you may want to take her out for a posh meal then surprise her by planting the ring in the desert (Some opt for hiding it under the burger bun). Or see if the waiter can write ‘will you marry me’ in chocolate sauce.
3) Mr Cheese
If you’re a cheesy kind of guy then this is right up your street. Rent her favourite chick flick – preferably one that includes a marriage proposal – then re-enact her favourite scene. Not much of an actor? No problem, just watch the film then propose, simples.
4) Whisk her away
Try something different - take her away for a weekend. Go for a romantic walk, take a picnic and find a secluded spot. Loose yourselves within the sights and sounds of nature and feel like a teenager again. P.s, don’t forget to pack a blanket.
5) Recreate your first date
This is oh so romantic. Bring the memories alive by re-visiting your first date. Talk about how you first met and where you shared your first kiss. How can she resist all those happy memories of when you first got together?
6) Sugar-coated affection
